Mumbai on High Alert After ‘Human Bomb’ Threat
Mumbai Police declared a citywide alert after receiving a threat on the official Traffic Police WhatsApp number. The message warned that 34 vehicles had been fitted with “human bombs” and could be detonated during Anant Chaturdashi, part of the Ganesh Visarjan festival.
Terror Group Claims Involvement
The message claimed to be from a group identifying itself as “Lashkar-e-Jihadi.” It alleged that 14 Pakistani terrorists were involved and that 400 kilograms of RDX had been prepared to cause mass destruction across the city.
Security Measures Intensified
Police have stepped up security at key locations, especially along routes expected to see large crowds for the festival. Anti-terror units, bomb squads, and intelligence agencies are carrying out combing operations and closely monitoring sensitive zones.
Citizens Urged to Stay Calm
Officials have appealed to the public not to panic and to avoid spreading unverified rumors. Citizens have been asked to immediately report any suspicious activity or abandoned vehicles to authorities.
