Mohan Bhagwat Warns Against Regime Change Moves

Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat warned against attempts to destabilise India through disruptive political movements during his Vijayadashami address in Nagpur on Tuesday, October 20, 2026. Speaking at the organisation’s 101st foundation day celebrations, Bhagwat emphasised national unity, constitutional methods of protest and the need to protect India’s social harmony from divisive influences.

Mohan Bhagwat Warns Against Regime Change Attempts

Bhagwat referred to political unrest in countries including Bangladesh, Nepal and France, questioning whether movements seeking changes in government had successfully resolved underlying social and economic problems.

He alleged that certain international forces were attempting to weaken India by encouraging unrest and divisions within society. However, he did not present specific evidence establishing foreign involvement in Indian protests.

The RSS chief maintained that India had strengthened its position through stable leadership and national development, while cautioning against political movements driven by narrow interests.

RSS Chief Calls for Peaceful and Constitutional Protests

Bhagwat acknowledged that public dissatisfaction and demonstrations were natural features of democratic societies. However, he stressed that protests must respect constitutional principles, the law and standards of public conduct.

He argued that political movements should focus on resolving genuine grievances rather than encouraging hostility towards institutions, communities or individuals.

Bhagwat also emphasised dialogue and public participation in addressing social problems.

RSS Foundation Day Speech Highlights National Unity

Addressing the conclusion of the RSS centenary celebrations, Bhagwat described India’s cultural and religious diversity as a defining national strength.

He called for greater social harmony across communities, languages, regions and traditions, stressing the importance of mutual respect.

The RSS chief also highlighted the contributions of Sant Ravidas and urged younger generations to preserve India’s cultural heritage while contributing to national development.

His address combined concerns about political instability with an appeal for national cohesion and responsible democratic participation.
