Mohan Bhagwat Backs Dignity for LGBTQ+ Community
Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh chief Mohan Bhagwat has said LGBTQ+ people are part of Indian society and should not be treated as inferior, while also sharing his views on Generation Z, family communication and live-in relationships.

Speaking at an event on contemporary motherhood in Hyderabad, Bhagwat said LGBTQ+ communities have existed within Indian society and should not face social exclusion. He maintained that every person has a right to live with dignity and should be treated with understanding.
Bhagwat also referred to the historical presence of LGBTQ+ people in Indian traditions. He said society had previously accommodated different identities without ostracising individuals or treating them with contempt.
RSS Chief Comments on Gen Z
Discussing younger Indians, Bhagwat described Generation Z as adaptable and emotional. However, he said members of the generation may not always approach issues with a calm mind and could be influenced by messages that appear visibly genuine.
He urged parents and other elders to lead through personal example instead of merely criticising young people. Bhagwat said families must create space for regular conversations because younger generations increasingly seek explanations rather than accepting instructions without question.
Marriage and Mobile Phone Discipline
Bhagwat described marriage as a disciplined institution that encourages responsibility and dharma. He criticised live-in relationships, arguing that they could prioritise personal happiness while avoiding long-term responsibilities. At the same time, he acknowledged that modernisation and adaptation are necessary as society changes.
The RSS chief also called for greater mobile phone discipline within families. He said parents cannot expect children to reduce their screen time if adults remain constantly attached to their own devices. Families, he added, should first address such concerns within the home instead of depending entirely on government intervention.
