Mexico Train Derailment Kills 13, Nearly 100 Injured

At least 13 people were killed and 98 others injured after a passenger train derailed in southern Mexico. The accident occurred in the state of Oaxaca when the train was travelling along the Isthmus of Tehuantepec rail corridor. Authorities said several coaches left the tracks, causing severe damage and trapping passengers inside.

Local emergency services, the National Guard and civil protection teams rushed to the site to carry out rescue operations. Injured passengers were transported to nearby hospitals, with several reported to be in serious condition. Officials said rescue work continued for hours to ensure no passengers were left trapped in the wreckage.

The train was carrying more than 200 passengers at the time of the derailment.
