Meta Appoints Arun Srinivas as New India Managing Director
Meta Platforms has announced the appointment of Arun Srinivas as its new Managing Director and Head for India, effective July 1, 2025. Srinivas currently oversees Meta’s advertising business in India and will report to Sandhya Devanathan, who now leads both India and Southeast Asia.
Meta India leadership change
Srinivas steps into the role as Meta deepens its commitment to India—a core market where usage of Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, and Meta AI continues to surge. He brings nearly 30 years of leadership experience across sales, marketing, and tech, with prior roles at major firms including Hindustan Unilever, Reebok, Ola (as COO/CMO), and WestBridge Capital.
Driving Meta’s digital ad and AI strategy
At Meta since 2020, Srinivas initially led the Global Business Group in India and later became Director and Head of Ads Business. Under his leadership, Meta India achieved substantial growth: in FY24, revenue rose around 9% year-on-year to ₹3,035 crore, with net profit climbing nearly 43% to ₹505 crore—driven largely by advertising growth in AI-led formats like Reels and WhatsApp ads.
In his new role, Srinivas will steer Meta’s strategic vision in India, guiding innovation in AI, strengthening partnerships with advertisers, developers, and agencies, and scaling the company’s business operations and revenue roadmap.

India is not just Meta’s largest market by user count—it’s also becoming a global testbed for digital advertising, AI, and commerce tools like Llama and Meta AI. With over 800 million internet users and rapid adoption of Reels and WhatsApp as business channels, Meta’s India team plays a central role in global growth.
