Maruti Suzuki July Sales Cross 2 Lakh
Maruti Suzuki India recorded its highest-ever monthly domestic sales in July 2026, crossing the two-lakh-unit mark for the first time as demand strengthened across its passenger vehicle portfolio.
Maruti Suzuki July Sales Record
The country’s largest carmaker reported domestic sales of 200,123 vehicles during July, representing growth of 42.4% from 140,570 units in the corresponding month of 2025.
The July performance surpassed Maruti Suzuki’s previous domestic monthly record of 193,535 units, achieved in May 2026. Domestic sales had subsequently moderated to 150,150 units in June before rebounding sharply during July.
The disclosed figures represent wholesale dispatches by the manufacturer and should not be interpreted as retail vehicle registrations during the month.
Domestic Car Demand Drives Growth
Maruti Suzuki’s record sales came amid strong demand for passenger cars and utility vehicles. Its portfolio includes compact models such as the Swift, Baleno, WagonR and Dzire, alongside utility vehicles including the Brezza, Fronx, Ertiga, Grand Vitara and Victoris.
The company has also benefited from improved demand for entry-level vehicles. Maruti Suzuki has previously indicated that some of its affordable models were facing an order backlog as demand exceeded available supply.
July’s increase extended the strong sales momentum recorded during the opening months of the 2026-27 financial year.
Maruti Suzuki Expands Production Capacity
The automaker is increasing manufacturing capacity to address growing domestic demand and support exports. Commercial production recently began at the fourth unit of its Hansalpur facility in Gujarat, adding annual capacity of 250,000 vehicles.
The expansion raised the Gujarat plant’s total production capacity to one million vehicles annually. Maruti Suzuki is also pursuing a broader plan to add another one million units of annual capacity in India as it prepares for sustained demand across conventional, hybrid and electric vehicle categories.
