Man Arrested in Mumbai for Threatening Salman Khan, Demanding ₹2 Crore Ransom
Mumbai Police have arrested a man in Bandra for allegedly threatening Bollywood superstar Salman Khan with death and demanding a ransom of ₹2 crore.
The arrest followed a report filed by the Mumbai Traffic Police after receiving a message from an unknown sender warning Khan of fatal consequences if the ransom wasn’t paid.
The suspect, Mohammad Tayyab, allegedly also targeted Bandra East MLA Zeeshan Siddique with similar threats. This comes shortly after the recent arrest of a 20-year-old in Noida for issuing threats to both Khan and Siddique. Siddique’s father, former Maharashtra Minister Baba Siddique, was killed in a shooting incident on October 12, adding to the gravity of the situation.
Increased Security Concerns for Salman Khan
This recent incident is the latest in a string of threats against Salman Khan. In 2022, a threatening letter was found on a bench near Khan’s Galaxy Apartments residence in Bandra West. In March 2023, the actor received a threat via email allegedly from gangster Goldy Brar. Earlier this year, two individuals attempted to infiltrate Khan’s Panvel farmhouse using fake identities. Additionally, suspected members of the Bishnoi gang reportedly opened fire outside his Bandra residence in April.
With mounting security threats, authorities have tightened measures around Khan’s properties and family. The police continue to investigate the motives and potential connections between the recent incidents to ensure the actor’s safety.
