
Man Arrested for Fake Bomb Threat to Gadkari’s Home
A man was arrested in Nagpur after making a phone call threatening to bomb Union Minister Nitin Gadkari’s residence on Wardha Road. Authorities responded swiftly, activated security protocols, and later confirmed the threat was a hoax.
Threat Made via Emergency Call
The Nagpur city control room received a call through the 112 emergency number, claiming that a bomb had been planted at Gadkari’s home and would detonate within ten minutes. Security around the minister’s residence was immediately increased as a precaution.
Suspect Traced and Arrested
Police traced the call to mobile number 7498579746, registered to Umesh Vishnu Raut, a resident of Tulsi Bagh Road in the Mahal area. Within hours, officers detained Raut near Beema Dawakhana. He works at a local liquor shop and reportedly has no prior criminal record.
Hoax Confirmed After Bomb Squad Sweep
A bomb squad thoroughly searched the residence and found no explosives. Authorities declared the threat a hoax and registered a criminal case. Raut has been formally arrested by the crime branch and is now in police custody.
