Mahesh Babu Launches South India’s First Dolby Cinema
Actor Mahesh Babu has launched South India’s first Dolby Cinema at AMB Cinemas Kapali in Bengaluru. The premium multiplex officially opened on December 16, marking AMB Cinemas’ entry into Karnataka after its successful Hyderabad flagship.
State-of-the-Art Viewing Experience
The new multiplex features nine advanced screens, including a dedicated Dolby Cinema hall equipped with a 60-foot-wide screen, Dolby Vision high-dynamic-range projection and Dolby Atmos immersive audio. The technology promises enhanced contrast, richer colours and theatre-quality surround sound.
Only the Second Dolby Cinema in India
Until now, India had just one Dolby Cinema screen, located in Pune. The Bengaluru launch makes AMB Cinemas Kapali the second Dolby Cinema in the country and the first in the southern region, signalling growing adoption of high-end cinema formats.
Mahesh Babu’s Multiplex Brand Expands
The Bengaluru opening is a major step for AMB Cinemas, which has been expanding its footprint with a focus on premium seating, upgraded projection systems and modern theatre design. The Kapali property is expected to attract large audiences seeking high-quality viewing experiences.
Strong Interest from Moviegoers
With the rise of large-format and immersive cinema technologies, Bengaluru filmgoers have shown strong interest in the new venue. Industry analysts say the entry of Dolby Cinema is likely to raise the bar for theatrical exhibition standards across South India.
