About the 2001 Parliament Attack

On December 13, 2001, five heavily armed terrorists attempted to storm the Parliament complex in New Delhi. Security forces, including personnel from the Delhi Police and central armed units, engaged the attackers in a fierce gun battle, killing all five terrorists. Nine people, including security personnel, lost their lives in the attack. The incident led to heightened security measures across the country and remains one of the most serious terror attacks on Indian institutions.
