On October 2, 2025, India observed Gandhi Jayanti and Lal Bahadur Shastri Jayanti, commemorating the birth anniversaries of Mahatma Gandhi and the second Prime Minister, Shastri. Several political leaders and officials paid tribute to the two leaders for their ideals and legacy.
PM and President Join Tributes
Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived at Raj Ghat in New Delhi to pay floral tribute to Mahatma Gandhi. He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to Gandhi’s principles of service, compassion, and simplicity.
