Kuwait Says Second Refinery Catches Fire After Drone Attack
Kuwait has reported that a second oil refinery caught fire after a drone attack, widening fears over the spread of strikes on Gulf energy infrastructure as the regional conflict continues to escalate. Officials said emergency teams were deployed quickly and no injuries were immediately reported.
Kuwait Refinery Fire After Drone Strike
The latest reports say the second refinery to catch fire was Mina Abdullah, after an earlier drone strike had already triggered a blaze at Mina al-Ahmadi. Kuwait’s state energy authorities said response teams moved in under emergency protocols to contain the situation and protect workers and facilities.
Mina Al Ahmadi And Mina Abdullah Targeted
Mina al-Ahmadi, one of Kuwait’s largest refining sites, was reported hit first, followed soon after by another strike affecting Mina Abdullah. The twin incidents have raised concern because they suggest a broader pattern of attacks on critical refining infrastructure rather than a single isolated hit.
Gulf Energy Security Fears Deepen
The refinery fires in Kuwait come as energy facilities in Saudi Arabia, Qatar and elsewhere in the Gulf have also come under attack. With multiple oil and gas sites now affected across the region, markets are increasingly worried about supply disruptions, refining losses and the wider vulnerability of Gulf energy networks.
