Kohli Powers RCB To Back-To-Back IPL Titles

Royal Challengers Bengaluru retained the Indian Premier League title after defeating Gujarat Titans by five wickets in the 2026 IPL final in Ahmedabad. Virat Kohli led the chase with an unbeaten 75, sealing victory with a six as RCB completed a second straight championship win.

Kohli produced a match-winning innings under pressure, scoring 75 not out off 42 balls with nine fours and three sixes. The veteran batter reached his fifth half-century of the season and guided Bengaluru through the chase with 12 balls to spare.

The win marked another major moment in Kohli’s long association with RCB, a franchise he has represented since the first IPL season in 2008. After years of near misses, Bengaluru have now turned their long wait into consecutive title wins.

RCB Beat Gujarat Titans By Five Wickets

Gujarat Titans were restricted to 155 for 8 after being sent in to bat. Bengaluru’s bowlers delivered a disciplined performance, with Rasikh Dar taking three wickets, while Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Josh Hazlewood picked up two wickets each.

Washington Sundar was Gujarat’s main contributor with an unbeaten half-century, but the total proved short against a confident Bengaluru batting unit.

RCB, led by Rajat Patidar, finished the season strongly after topping the league-stage table. The final win confirmed their rise as the dominant side of the current IPL cycle.

Kohli was named Player of the Match for his unbeaten knock. Speaking after the win, he described the moment as the “stuff of dreams,” as Bengaluru celebrated another historic title at the Narendra Modi Stadium.
