Kiren Rijiju Accuses Congress MPs Over Speaker Chamber
Union Minister Kiren Rijiju alleged that a group of Congress MPs entered the Lok Sabha Speaker’s chamber and behaved in an inappropriate manner during recent parliamentary disruptions, intensifying political tensions in the ongoing session.
Kiren Rijiju Allegations Against Congress MPs
Rijiju claimed around 20 to 25 opposition MPs went inside the Speaker’s office and used abusive language. He described the incident as a serious breach of parliamentary conduct and said such behaviour undermines institutional decorum.
He urged political parties to respect the authority of the presiding officer and maintain discipline during proceedings.
Lok Sabha Disruption And Political Row
The allegation comes amid continued protests by opposition members over various issues raised during the session. Repeated adjournments have affected legislative business, with both sides accusing each other of obstructing parliamentary functioning.
Opposition leaders have denied wrongdoing and countered that they were raising legitimate concerns, leading to further confrontation between treasury benches and opposition members.
Parliamentary Conduct And House Proceedings
The government maintained that established parliamentary rules must be followed while expressing dissent. Officials emphasised that debates and protests should occur within procedural limits to ensure smooth functioning of the House.
The controversy is expected to remain a subject of discussion in the coming sittings as both sides continue to press their positions.
