Khamenei Warns Trump as Protests Continue in Iran

Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has issued a warning to US President Donald Trump as protests continue in several parts of the country. Khamenei said history shows that tyrants eventually collapse, a remark widely seen as directed at Washington amid rising tensions and internal unrest in Iran.

The comments were delivered during a public address at a time when Iran is witnessing demonstrations linked to economic stress, including high inflation, a weakened currency, and unemployment. Protesters in multiple cities have voiced anger over living costs and governance issues, with some slogans also criticising the political leadership.

Government Response and Allegations

Iranian authorities have blamed foreign powers for fuelling the protests, accusing external actors of attempting to destabilise the country. Security forces have been deployed in several areas, and restrictions on internet access have been reported during periods of heightened unrest.

Khamenei said Iran would not yield to pressure from abroad and insisted the Islamic Republic remained resilient despite challenges. He also rejected what he described as attempts to exploit domestic issues for geopolitical purposes.

International Attention

The protests and Tehran’s response have drawn international attention, with governments and rights groups closely watching developments as tensions between Iran and the United States remain high.
