Kerala Says No Immediate LPG Shortage

Kerala’s Left Democratic Front government has said there is no immediate shortage of domestic LPG in the State, even as concerns over supply disruptions continue in parts of the country due to the ongoing West Asia conflict. The assurance comes amid rising public anxiety over cooking gas availability, delayed refills and the broader impact of tensions around the Strait of Hormuz on India’s fuel supply chain.

Kerala Government Assures No Immediate LPG Shortage

State Food and Civil Supplies Minister G.R. Anil said Kerala does not face an immediate shortage of domestic LPG and urged the public not to panic. The government said it is closely monitoring stock positions and coordinating with oil companies to ensure regular household supply. The reassurance is aimed at preventing panic booking and unnecessary pressure on the distribution system at a time when fuel logistics remain under strain nationally.

Domestic LPG Supply Under Close Monitoring

The State government has made it clear that domestic LPG supply is being prioritised and that the current situation does not call for alarm. The focus remains on ensuring that households continue to receive cylinders without major interruption. The official message comes as several other states have also moved to calm fears over domestic LPG availability, even while commercial users in some regions face tighter supply conditions and delivery delays.

West Asia Conflict Raises Fuel Supply Concerns

The Kerala government’s statement comes against the backdrop of a larger national concern over LPG imports, many of which depend on cargo movement through the Gulf. Disruption in and around the Strait of Hormuz has increased uncertainty over shipping schedules and replenishment timelines. While the immediate domestic position in Kerala remains stable, the broader energy situation continues to be watched closely because prolonged regional instability could still affect future supply patterns.
