Tensions inside the Karnataka Congress grew sharper on Saturday as Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Deputy Chief Minister D. K. Shivakumar met over breakfast in Bengaluru. The meeting was held after the party high command asked both leaders to settle differences amid speculation over a possible leadership shift.

In Delhi, Rahul Gandhi and Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge held discussions to assess the political situation and explore options to stabilise the government. The talks focused on internal reconciliation and possible organisational adjustments. A final decision is expected within two days.

Siddaramaiah said the meeting was convened as directed by the party, while Shivakumar stressed that governance remains their primary focus. Despite this, lawmakers from both camps continue to lobby the central leadership, showing that internal tensions remain unresolved.
