JSW Green Mobility to Invest Rs 27,200 Crore in AURIC City Plant

Aurangabad Industrial City (AURIC) has allotted 636 acres of land to JSW Green Mobility, marking a significant step towards boosting the state’s industrial ecosystem. The plant, set to be established in the Bidkin node, is expected to go into production within the next 12 to 18 months, according to an official statement by Maharashtra Industrial Township Limited (MITL).

The land allotment to JSW Green Mobility comes shortly after the administration issued 827 acres to Toyota Kirloskar Motors Private Limited. With this move, AURIC is steadily emerging as a key automotive hub in India, attracting significant investments in the electric vehicle (EV) sector.

Major Investment in EV Sector

JSW Green Mobility plans to set up an electric car manufacturing unit on 546 acres of the allotted land. Additionally, 90 acres will be dedicated to commercial vehicle production. The company’s total investment in the facility is projected to be Rs 27,200 crore. This massive investment is expected to generate 5,000 direct jobs and 15,000 indirect employment opportunities in the region, enhancing the local economy and infrastructure.

Boost to AURIC’s Industrial Growth

The land allotment certificate was issued online by MITL on Thursday, solidifying JSW Green Mobility’s commitment to establishing its footprint in Maharashtra. The administration’s efforts in facilitating these investments underscore its vision to develop AURIC into a sustainable and technologically advanced industrial city.

JSW Green Mobility’s upcoming facility will significantly contribute to the state’s industrial growth, positioning AURIC as a leading destination for automotive and EV manufacturing in India. The company’s entry into AURIC reflects the increasing confidence of investors in Maharashtra’s industrial development policies and infrastructure.

The new plant is anticipated to accelerate the region’s transition towards sustainable transportation solutions, aligning with India’s broader push for clean energy and electric mobility.
