J&K Police Bust Major Terror Module, Seize 2,900 kg Explosives

The Jammu & Kashmir Police said it has thwarted a large-scale terror plot by arresting seven individuals and recovering about 2,900 kg of improvised explosive device (IED) materials during coordinated raids across multiple states. The operation spanned Jammu & Kashmir, Haryana’s Faridabad, and Saharanpur in Uttar Pradesh.

Module and Arsenal Details

Police described the network as linked to the proscribed outfits Jaish‑e‑Mohammed (JeM) and Ansar Ghazwat‑ul‑Hind (AGuH). Those arrested include two doctors and other professionals, indicating what investigators call a “white-collar terror ecosystem” involving radicalised individuals and students in contact with foreign handlers. Items seized include pistols, rifles, ammunition, chemicals, wiring, remote-control devices and timers.

Implications and Investigation

Officials said the volume of explosive material suggests the group was preparing for high-impact attacks. Financial links and encrypted communication channels are being probed. While the police emphasised the operation is a major disruption of terror infrastructure, they also warned that the investigation is ongoing and further arrests could follow.
