J&K LG Sacks 5 Government Employees Over Terror Links
The Jammu and Kashmir administration has dismissed five government employees after security agencies found their alleged links with terror outfits, officials said. The action was taken by Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha as part of efforts to safeguard internal security and prevent infiltration of extremist networks within government institutions.
Action Based on Security Inputs
The employees were removed from service following intelligence assessments that indicated their involvement with banned militant organisations or anti-national activities. Officials said the dismissals were carried out under constitutional provisions that allow termination without a departmental inquiry when national security is at risk.
Roles of Dismissed Employees
Those dismissed included staff from different departments such as education, health, power and forest services. Authorities said the individuals were found to have maintained contact with terror handlers or provided logistical support, posing a threat to public safety and governance.
Part of Wider Crackdown
The move is part of an ongoing crackdown by the Jammu and Kashmir administration against government employees suspected of terror links. Officials said similar action has been taken in recent years to ensure that public institutions are free from extremist influence.
