JeM Bahawalpur Base Rebuilt After Operation Sindoor
Jaish-e-Mohammed’s key complex in Pakistan’s Bahawalpur has reportedly been substantially rebuilt around 15 months after it was damaged during India’s Operation Sindoor. Indian intelligence inputs claim the facility is being restored for regular activity, although allegations of Pakistani state funding have not been independently established.
JeM Bahawalpur Base Rebuilt After Operation Sindoor
Markaz Subhan Allah, also known as the Jamia Subhan Allah complex, has undergone extensive reconstruction since early 2026. Fresh plastering and paint, marble flooring and restored structures are reported to have returned major sections of the compound to usable condition.
Construction machinery, bricks, steel and other materials were reportedly moved into the complex over several months. The Bahawalpur facility has long been identified by Indian authorities as an important ideological, organisational and training centre associated with JeM.
Intelligence Inputs Allege Pakistan Funding
Indian intelligence sources have alleged that approximately ₹25 crore was provided in instalments for reconstruction, purportedly with assistance from Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence.
Around ₹11 crore of the reported amount was allegedly spent on rebuilding the central hall. These funding claims are based on intelligence assessments and have not been independently verified.
JeM-linked social media accounts had also reportedly conducted fundraising campaigns using digital wallets following the Indian strikes.
Operation Sindoor Targeted Nine Locations
India struck nine locations in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir during Operation Sindoor on May 6-7, 2025, following the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack.
JeM chief Masood Azhar subsequently claimed that 10 members of his family and four associates were killed at the Bahawalpur complex.
The reported reconstruction has renewed attention on the ability of Pakistan-based militant organisations to restore infrastructure after Indian military action.
