It’s Only Between Me And CM, Says D.K. Shivakumar On “November Revolution”

Deputy Chief Minister D. K. Shivakumar has played down speculation about a leadership change in Karnataka, describing the so-called “November revolution” as a matter only between him and Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. He said that details of any internal discussion will remain confined to their private talks.

Clarification Amid Speculation

Shivakumar’s remarks came after widespread rumours suggesting that the Congress government could change its leadership around the halfway mark of its five-year term. He reiterated that the only conversation on the matter is with the Chief Minister himself and refused to comment further on whether any change would actually happen.

Political Context

Within Karnataka’s ruling party, there has been considerable chatter about power sharing and leadership rotation. Some party insiders had labelled November as the potential time for a shift. However, both the CM and other senior leaders have publicly ruled out any change of office this year, emphasising the CM’s term will last until 2028.

What This Means

By framing the issue as a private discussion, Shivakumar is likely trying to quell factional pressures and maintain party unity. His statement signals that, regardless of internal manoeuvres, the official stance remains no immediate change — with the current CM staying on.
