Israel Condemns Iran’s Missile Attack, Calls It Unprecedented

In the aftermath of Iran’s recent missile strike on Israeli territory, Israel’s Ambassador to India, Reuven Azar, strongly condemned the attack, calling it an “unprecedented” act in the history of warfare.

Speaking in an exclusive interview with India Today TV, Azar warned that Iran’s actions would not go unanswered and labeled the move a “serious mistake” on Iran’s part.

Iran Fires 181 Ballistic Missiles at Israel

Azar revealed the gravity of the situation, disclosing that Iran launched 181 ballistic missiles, each carrying a payload of 700 to 1,000 kilograms of explosives. These missiles, capable of massive destruction, were aimed at critical infrastructure and civilian areas. “What Iran did is that it fired a barrage, unprecedented in the history of humankind, of 181 ballistic missiles… capable of destroying an entire building, of destroying many lives,” he said, highlighting the severity of the strike.

Israel’s Defense System Successfully Thwarts Attack

The Israeli envoy credited the country’s state-of-the-art missile defense system and strong international partnerships, particularly with the United States and neighboring Arab nations, for successfully intercepting the majority of the incoming missiles. “Thank God we are safe. Israel has the best missile defense system in the world,” Azar stated.

He dismissed Iran’s claims of damaging Israeli air bases, clarifying that the missiles which did hit Israel landed in non-critical areas, causing minimal damage. “We didn’t intercept those which wouldn’t hurt essential places or civilians… We just don’t intercept because it’s not worthwhile,” he explained.

Criticism of Iran’s Military Spending

Azar further criticized Iran’s use of its resources for military aggression instead of addressing the needs of its own people. “Iran prepared all this machinery of war, spent billions of dollars on the account of the oppressed Iranian people that do not have water… Instead, they are investing to create terror armies to choke the state of Israel,” he remarked.

Escalating Tensions and Future Implications

The recent attack marks a direct escalation in the conflict, with Iran’s proxies such as Hamas and Hezbollah already facing major defeats in the region. Azar warned that Iran’s direct involvement would not be without consequences. “Iran has made a very serious mistake… they decided to continue the fight directly against Israel, and they will pay a price,” he asserted.

The situation has further heightened tensions in the Middle East, with international observers closely monitoring the developments. The incident underscores the volatile dynamics of the region and the potential for broader conflict if diplomatic solutions are not reached.
