Islamabad Court Blast: Pakistan Blames India

A suicide bomber set off explosives on 11 November 2025 outside the court complex in the G-11 sector of Pakistan’s capital, killing at least 12 people and injuring around 27 others, officials said. The explosion occurred after the attacker, unable to enter the building, detonated his vest near a police vehicle at the gate.

Attack and Investigation

The blast has been described as one of the deadliest in Islamabad in recent years. Forensic teams and police have cordoned off the area and are examining CCTV footage and vehicle wreckage. While no group has publicly claimed responsibility, the Tehreek‑e‑Taliban Pakistan (TTP) has been identified by analysts as a potential perpetrator.

Diplomatic Fallout

Shortly after the attack, Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif accused neighboring India of masterminding the bombing through “terrorist proxies,” calling it a continuation of India’s alleged destabilisation campaign. India rejected the claim, terming it “baseless and unfounded” and dismissing it as a diversion from Pakistan’s internal issues.

Wider Significance

The incident raises fresh concerns about internal security in Pakistan and may exacerbate regional tensions between Islamabad and New Delhi. Analysts warn the government must now address both militant threats and diplomatic fallout while providing support to victims and stabilising the capital’s security environment.
