Iran Warns US Against Ground Operation

Iran has warned the United States against any military move on its territory, saying American forces would face serious consequences if they attempted a ground operation amid rising tensions in the Gulf.

Iran Warns US Against Military Action

Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmail Baghaei said Tehran was prepared for any escalation, including a possible ground invasion. He said any attempt to enter Iranian territory would be strongly resisted.

The warning comes as tensions between Iran and the United States remain high following stalled nuclear negotiations, military exchanges and rising concerns over the Strait of Hormuz.

US-Iran Nuclear Talks Face Deadlock

Baghaei accused Washington of damaging diplomatic efforts and said Iran no longer trusted the United States after repeated breakdowns in talks. He argued that negotiations could not continue if one side demanded complete acceptance of its terms.

Iran has rejected the latest US nuclear proposal and has pushed for an end to hostilities, reopening of the Strait of Hormuz and removal of what Tehran describes as a maritime blockade before further talks resume.

Strait Of Hormuz Crisis Concerns India

The crisis around the Strait of Hormuz is being closely watched by India because of its heavy dependence on Gulf energy imports and maritime shipping routes. Any prolonged disruption could affect crude oil supplies, freight movement and fuel prices.

Baghaei said Iran did not want long-term instability in the region and acknowledged that countries such as India were being affected. Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi is expected to attend the upcoming BRICS Foreign Ministers’ meeting in India, where the Gulf crisis is likely to be discussed.
