Iran Warns Over Alleged Island Threat

Iran’s parliament speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf has warned that Tehran has received intelligence suggesting hostile countries may be preparing to seize one of Iran’s islands with backing from a regional state. He said Iranian forces are closely monitoring developments and warned that any such move would trigger retaliation against the supporting country’s key infrastructure.

Ghalibaf Warns Of Threat To Iranian Island

In remarks shared publicly, Ghalibaf said Iran had received reports that its enemies were preparing to occupy one of the country’s islands with support from a regional country. He said all enemy movements were under watch and warned that if any step was taken, the vital infrastructure of that country would face relentless attacks. He did not identify the island or the regional state involved.

Araghchi Says US Missed Key War Goals

Separately, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said the United States had failed to achieve its main objectives in the war. He said Washington had not secured a quick military victory and had also failed to bring about regime change in Tehran. The remarks reflected Iran’s attempt to project confidence as the conflict continued to widen across the region.

US Expands Military Presence In Middle East

At the same time, the United States has moved to strengthen its military posture in the Middle East. Reports said additional troops from the US Army’s 82nd Airborne Division were being deployed from North Carolina to the region. The move underlined Washington’s growing military focus on the conflict as tensions with Iran remained high.
