Iran Urges Saudi Arabia To Expel US Forces

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has called on Saudi Arabia to remove US forces from its territory, saying it is time for the kingdom to reconsider its security alignment. His remarks come amid rising regional tensions and reflect Tehran’s continuing effort to frame the United States as the main source of instability in West Asia.

Iran Urges Saudi Arabia To Expel US Forces

In a message posted on Monday, Araghchi said Saudi Arabia should eject American forces from its soil. He described the moment as the right time for Riyadh to take that step, linking the presence of US troops to wider insecurity in the region. The statement marks another direct attempt by Iran to pressure Gulf states over their military ties with Washington.

Abbas Araghchi Calls Saudi Arabia A Brotherly Nation

Araghchi also struck a softer tone toward Saudi Arabia itself, saying Iran respects the kingdom and considers it a brotherly nation. By separating Riyadh from Washington in his remarks, he appeared to signal that Tehran wants to avoid direct confrontation with Saudi Arabia while continuing to challenge the US military presence in the Gulf.

Iran Says Its Operations Target Enemies Only

The Iranian foreign minister insisted that Iran’s regional military actions were aimed only at hostile forces. He said those enemies had no respect for either Arabs or Iranians and could not provide genuine security to the region. The remarks fit Iran’s broader messaging that its operations are defensive and directed at outside aggressors rather than neighbouring states.
