Iran Says Strike Hit Key Pharma Supply Facility
Tofigh Daru, a key pharmaceutical raw materials facility in Tehran, was identified by Iranian media as the site hit in the latest US-Israeli strike claimed by Iran. Iranian officials said the attack destroyed major production and research sections of the plant, raising concerns over the country’s supply of critical medical inputs.
Tehran Pharmaceutical Facility Hit
Iran’s IRNA news agency identified the targeted site as the Tofigh Daru pharmaceutical raw material units in Tehran. According to Deputy Health Minister Mahdi Pirsalehi, the strike caused the total destruction of the facility’s production units as well as its research and development department.
Medical Supply Chain Faces Pressure
Iranian officials said the factory was not a producer of finished medicines, but played an important role in manufacturing raw materials used for hospital drugs, operating room supplies, and some anti-cancer treatments. That has led authorities to describe the damage as a serious disruption to the country’s medical supply chain.
Iran Raises Health Sector Concerns
The reported damage adds a new dimension to the conflict by affecting health-related industrial capacity rather than only military or energy-linked targets. Iranian officials have framed the strike as a blow to civilian infrastructure tied to public health services, especially for hospitals and specialised treatment needs.
