Iran Says Lebanon Is Part Of Ceasefire
Iran’s Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf has said Lebanon is an inseparable part of the current ceasefire framework with the United States, directly challenging the position taken by Washington and Israel that the truce does not cover the Lebanon front. His warning came after deadly Israeli strikes in Lebanon further strained the fragile pause in regional hostilities.
Iran Says Lebanon Is Part Of Ceasefire
In a post on X, Ghalibaf said Lebanon and the wider Resistance Axis, which Iran considers its regional allies, form an inseparable part of the ceasefire. He suggested that any attack on Lebanon should be treated as a violation of the broader truce. The statement underlined Tehran’s position that the ceasefire cannot be limited only to direct Iran-US military exchanges while Israeli operations continue elsewhere in the region.
Ghalibaf Warns Of Strong Response
The Iranian parliament speaker also warned that ceasefire violations would carry clear costs and trigger strong responses. His comments reflect growing anger in Tehran after Israeli attacks in Lebanon caused heavy casualties and raised doubts about whether diplomacy can hold. The warning also adds pressure ahead of the next round of talks linked to the ceasefire, where the scope and enforcement of the truce remain major points of dispute.
Lebanon Front Deepens Ceasefire Dispute
The disagreement over Lebanon has become one of the central fault lines in the current crisis. Iran and several international voices have argued that Lebanon must be covered under any meaningful ceasefire, while the United States and Israel have publicly maintained that it is outside the agreement. Ghalibaf’s statement signals that Tehran may treat further attacks on Lebanon not as a separate issue, but as a direct challenge to the ceasefire itself.
