Iran Flags Gulf Bridge Targets After Strike

Tehran has signalled possible retaliation against key bridges in Gulf countries and Jordan after a major strike damaged the B1 bridge near Karaj, west of Tehran. The latest development has added another layer of tension to the ongoing U.S.-Iran conflict, with infrastructure now emerging as a visible part of the battlefield.

Iran Gulf Bridge Retaliation Threat

Iranian media reports said a list of eight bridges in Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia-Bahrain and Jordan has surfaced as potential retaliation targets. The bridges named include major road links and causeways that are strategically important for transport and regional connectivity. The reported list suggests Tehran may be trying to raise pressure on countries seen as aligned with U.S. military interests in the region.

B1 Bridge Strike Near Tehran

The reported trigger for the threat was the strike on the B1 bridge in Alborz province near Karaj. Iranian officials said the bridge, which was still under construction and intended to improve connectivity between Tehran and Karaj, suffered heavy damage. Casualties were also reported, with deaths and injuries mentioned by Iranian authorities. Video footage circulating online appeared to show sections of the structure collapsing after the attack.

Trump Iran War Escalation

U.S. President Donald Trump further escalated tensions by publicly warning Iran of more destruction unless it agrees to a deal. Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi responded by saying attacks on civilian infrastructure would not force Iran to surrender. The confrontation reflects how the war has moved beyond military targets and is now threatening transport infrastructure with wider regional consequences.
