Iran Fires Missiles Toward Jordan
Iran said it fired 10 ballistic missiles at a US-linked military facility in Jordan, while Jordan said its air defences intercepted eight missiles launched from Iran with no casualties or damage reported.
Iran Claims Strike On Jordan Base
Iran’s Revolutionary Guards said they targeted what they described as a US command-and-control centre and an air base in Al-Azraq, Jordan.
The Guards warned that other US bases in the region would also be vulnerable if Washington continued its military action against Iran.
Jordan’s military said eight missiles fired from Iran were intercepted after entering its airspace. It said missile fragments fell in some areas, but no human casualties or material damage were reported.
Jordan Says Airspace Breached
Jordanian officials said sirens were activated after missiles launched from Iran breached the country’s airspace.
The government said its air defence systems dealt with the threat and reiterated that Jordan would not allow its airspace to be violated by any party.
The Al-Azraq area hosts a Jordanian air base that has previously been used by forces from the US and other allied countries during operations against the Islamic State group. Jordan, however, maintains that it does not host foreign military bases.
US Iran Clashes Escalate
The missile attack came amid a second consecutive day of exchanges between Iran and the United States.
Washington has launched strikes on Iranian military targets, saying the action was linked to attacks on commercial vessels near the Strait of Hormuz.
The latest escalation has further tested the fragile ceasefire between the two countries and raised concerns across West Asia over a wider regional conflict.uz
