Iran Claims Strike on Amazon Bahrain Data Centre
Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps has claimed that it attacked and destroyed an Amazon data centre in Bahrain as part of its retaliatory operations against facilities allegedly supporting the US military. The claim has not been independently verified.

The Revolutionary Guards said the attack targeted a data centre operated by US technology company Amazon in Bahrain. Iranian state media described the facility as an intelligence-processing centre that allegedly supplied information to American military forces.
The Guards claimed the latest operation destroyed the remaining structure of the facility. It followed an earlier Iranian statement that several cruise missiles had been launched at Amazon’s central data infrastructure in Bahrain.
Iran did not release independently verifiable evidence establishing the extent of the reported damage.
Amazon and Bahrain Yet to Confirm
Amazon, the Bahraini government and US authorities had not publicly confirmed the reported attack or destruction of the facility at the time of reporting. No verified information was immediately available about casualties, service disruptions or damage to neighbouring infrastructure.
The absence of independent confirmation means the Iranian statement remains a military claim. Amazon operates cloud-computing infrastructure in Bahrain through Amazon Web Services, but Tehran’s description of the facility as a US military intelligence centre has also not been independently substantiated.
US-Iran Conflict Expands Across Gulf
Iran has warned that facilities and military bases across the Middle East could be targeted if they are used to support American attacks on Iranian territory. Tehran maintains that infrastructure assisting US military operations constitutes a legitimate retaliatory target.
The reported operation comes amid widening US-Iran hostilities involving missile, drone and air attacks across the region. Bahrain hosts the US Navy’s Fifth Fleet, making the country strategically important to American military operations in the Gulf.
