Iran Arrests Two Over Alleged Armed Plot
Iranian security forces have arrested two people accused of plotting an armed attack in Golestan province, according to semi-official Tasnim News Agency, as authorities claimed they had disrupted an operation before it could be carried out. The alleged plot adds to growing security concerns inside Iran as the wider regional conflict continues to fuel internal tensions and fears of covert activity.
Iran Arrests Two Over Alleged Armed Plot
Officials said the two suspects were detained in northern Golestan province before they could launch an attack targeting Iranian security forces. According to the report, intelligence and security units identified the alleged threat after receiving public reports and conducting surveillance linked to suspicious activity in the area.
Authorities Claim US And Israel Link
Iranian officials described the suspects as part of a cell allegedly linked to the United States and Israel. The claim reflects Tehran’s continuing narrative that foreign-backed networks are trying to exploit the wartime environment to carry out destabilising attacks from within. No independent confirmation of the allegation was immediately available.
Weapons Seized In Gorgan Raid
Authorities said a raid on a hideout in the city of Gorgan led to the recovery of four Colt rifles and 43 rounds of ammunition. The seizure was presented as evidence that the suspects were preparing for an armed operation. The case is likely to be used by Iranian officials to reinforce warnings about espionage, sabotage and infiltration during the ongoing conflict.
