Indian IT Giants to Deploy 200,000 Microsoft Copilot Licences
Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella has announced that Cognizant, Infosys, TCS and Wipro will collectively deploy over 200,000 Microsoft Copilot licences across their global operations. Each firm is set to roll out more than 50,000 licences, marking one of the largest enterprise AI deployments worldwide.
Expanding AI Partnerships
The deployment is part of strengthened partnerships aimed at accelerating agentic AI adoption in enterprise environments. Microsoft Copilot, integrated into Microsoft 365 and other business applications, will support tasks across delivery, HR, finance, sales and customer service by improving productivity and decision-making.
Companies Labelled ‘Frontier Firms’
Microsoft described the four IT majors as “frontier firms” in AI transformation, noting that they are now moving from pilot use cases to full-scale enterprise integration. The initiative signals a shift toward embedding AI deeply into everyday workflows across India’s biggest tech companies.
Linked to Microsoft’s Larger India Investment
The rollout coincides with Microsoft’s recently announced $17.5 billion investment in India, aimed at expanding cloud and AI infrastructure, data centres and skilling programmes over the next four years.
