Indian Coast Guard Rescues Over 50 Stranded Passengers from Missing Boat

In a swift and daring operation, the Indian Coast Guard rescued over 50 passengers from a missing boat near the Maharashtra coast on January 15. The boat, which was en route from a local port, encountered mechanical failure and went adrift due to strong currents, losing all communication with the mainland.

The Coast Guard launched a search-and-rescue mission immediately after receiving an alert about the missing vessel. Deploying patrol ships and aerial surveillance units, the team located the stranded boat several nautical miles off the coast of Ratnagiri. The rescue operation, carried out under challenging weather conditions, successfully ensured the safety of all passengers.

Medical teams at the Ratnagiri port provided first aid and support to the rescued individuals, who were reported to be in stable condition. Some passengers expressed their relief and gratitude to the Coast Guard for their timely intervention.

Authorities believe mechanical failure coupled with rough seas may have led to the incident. An investigation has been initiated to examine the vessel’s compliance with safety protocols and prevent future occurrences.

The Indian Coast Guard, known for its efficiency in handling maritime emergencies, reaffirmed its dedication to ensuring the safety of life at sea. This operation highlights their preparedness and ability to respond promptly to distress situations along the Indian coastline.
