India Triumphs Over Pakistan by 6 Wickets in ICC Champions Trophy 2025

India secured a convincing six-wicket victory over Pakistan in their Group A match of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. The match, played on February 23, saw Virat Kohli deliver an unbeaten century while Kuldeep Yadav starred with the ball to help India continue their strong campaign.

Pakistan, after winning the toss, opted to bat first but struggled against India’s disciplined bowling attack. Their top order failed to provide stability, with Babar Azam managing only 23 runs before being dismissed by Hardik Pandya. Imam-ul-Haq was run out for 10, further denting Pakistan’s start.

Saud Shakeel provided some resistance with a well-played 62 off 76 balls, forming a 104-run partnership with Mohammad Rizwan, who contributed 46 runs. Despite their efforts, Pakistan’s batting line-up faltered towards the end, managing to post 241 runs before being bowled out in 49.4 overs.

Kuldeep Yadav was the standout performer with the ball, claiming three wickets for 40 runs in his nine overs. Hardik Pandya chipped in with two crucial wickets, while Harshit Rana and Axar Patel maintained pressure with key breakthroughs.

India’s chase started steadily, with Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill adding 65 runs for the first wicket. Rohit scored 20 runs before falling to Shaheen Afridi, while Gill played fluently for his 46 before being dismissed.

At 91/2, Virat Kohli took charge of the innings, playing a measured and controlled knock. Partnering with Shreyas Iyer, who contributed 56 runs, Kohli anchored the chase with precision. His innings featured eight boundaries and two sixes, ensuring India remained ahead throughout the chase.

Kohli remained unbeaten on 100 off 111 balls, guiding India to their target in 42.3 overs.

The victory solidified India’s position in Group A, marking their second consecutive win in the tournament.
