India Prepares Evacuation Of Citizens From Iran
India’s Ministry of External Affairs has begun preparations to evacuate Indian nationals from Iran amid continuing unrest and security concerns. Officials said the first evacuation flight is expected to operate from Tehran to New Delhi as part of the initial phase of the operation.
Advisory Issued To Indians
The MEA has advised Indian citizens currently in Iran to remain in close contact with the Indian Embassy in Tehran and to register their details for evacuation assistance. Indians have also been urged to avoid unnecessary movement and follow local advisories until travel arrangements are finalised.
Embassy Coordination
Indian diplomatic staff in Iran are coordinating with local authorities to facilitate safe movement of citizens to designated departure points. Priority is being given to students, pilgrims and those seeking immediate assistance. Further flights may be arranged depending on the situation on the ground.
Reason For Evacuation
Iran has been witnessing widespread protests that have disrupted normal life in several regions. While Indian authorities said the situation is being monitored continuously, the evacuation plan is aimed at ensuring the safety of citizens who wish to return home.
The MEA said updates will be shared as arrangements progress.
