India Not Seeking War, But Will Respond to Aggression: Tharoor

In the wake of escalating tensions between India and Pakistan, Congress MP Shashi Tharoor has reiterated India’s stance of restraint, emphasizing that the nation has no intention of initiating conflict but will respond decisively to any acts of aggression.

Speaking to reporters in Thiruvananthapuram, Tharoor stated, “India has no interest in initiating a war against Pakistan, but if our civilian, military, or government establishments are attacked, we will give a strong reply.”

Operation Sindoor: A Calibrated Response

Tharoor highlighted India’s measured approach following the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack, which claimed 26 lives. He noted that the Indian armed forces conducted targeted strikes on terrorist base camps during nighttime to minimize civilian casualties.

“We did not hit Pakistani government or military installations, even though we know they are behind the terror attack. It clearly indicates we are not interested in a war,” Tharoor added.

Unified Political Support for Armed Forces

Tharoor emphasized the unity among Indian political parties in supporting the armed forces, citing all-party meetings held before and after Operation Sindoor. He stressed that India’s actions demonstrate responsible behavior on the global stage, aiming to avoid escalation while ensuring national security.
