India-Made ‘Vajra Shot’ Anti-Drone Gun Boasts 4 Km Range

At the Swavlamban 2024 exhibition held in Delhi, the India-made ‘Vajra Shot’ anti-drone gun, designed to detect and neutralize drones up to four kilometers away, grabbed the spotlight.

Navy Chief Admiral Dinesh Kumar Tripathi inspected the advanced weapon system during the event, which showcases indigenous defense innovations.

A Key Anti-Drone Solution

The ‘Vajra Shot,’ developed by Big Bang Boom Solutions, is already deployed in the Indian Army and Air Force. The handheld device is capable of jamming drone communications and disrupting operations from a significant range. The company’s representative, Ravi Kumar, highlighted the gun’s capabilities, saying, “It can detect drones up to 4 km and jam their signals. We have already received orders worth $25 million (over ₹200 crore).”

Features of the Vajra Shot

Designed with portability and ease of use in mind, ‘Vajra Shot’ enables soldiers to operate effectively in the field. Its flexible frequency adjustment allows for disruption of drone signals, making it superior to traditional fixed-frequency jammers.

Swavlamban 2024, hosted by the Indian Navy’s Naval Innovation and Indigenisation Organisation (NIIO), was held on October 28 and 29 at Bharat Mandapam, where Admiral Tripathi inaugurated the event, further supporting India’s push for indigenous defense technologies.
