India Emphasizes ‘Whole-Nation’ Readiness in Ran Samvad

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, speaking at Ran Samvad 2025 in Dr Ambedkar Nagar, stressed that national security can no longer be seen as the responsibility of the armed forces alone. He called for a “whole-of-nation” approach, urging civilian institutions and society at large to be prepared for future conflicts.

Operation Sindoor as an Example

Singh cited Operation Sindoor as a clear example of how India’s armed forces demonstrated speed, precision, and synergy in operations. He underlined that the mission highlighted the role of advanced technology and India’s progress in defense self-reliance.

Technology and Joint Capabilities Stressed

The Defence Minister said modern warfare demands technology-driven, joint capabilities. He emphasized the need to accelerate indigenous defense innovation, improve jointness among the three services, and prepare for long-drawn conflicts requiring resilience and adaptability.

India’s Path to Self-Reliant Defense

The seminar also discussed the roadmap for making India’s armed forces more joint, technology-heavy, and self-reliant by 2035. Singh reiterated that strengthening domestic defense manufacturing is vital for ensuring India’s sovereignty and security in the face of evolving threats.
