India Crush Zimbabwe to Clinch T20I Series

India defeated Zimbabwe by 90 runs in the second T20 International at Harare Sports Club, securing an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match series.

Ishan Kishan Powers India to 219

Asked to bat first, India lost Vaibhav Sooryavanshi and Abhishek Sharma inside the powerplay, slipping to 29 for two. Ishan Kishan and Tilak Varma then led a strong recovery with aggressive half-centuries.

Kishan struck 81 from 44 deliveries, producing a controlled innings before accelerating against Zimbabwe’s bowling attack. His knock provided the foundation for India’s imposing total of 219 for five from 20 overs.

Tilak remained unbeaten on 60 from only 29 balls, adding valuable late momentum with powerful hitting. Contributions from the middle and lower order helped India cross the 200-run mark despite the early setbacks.

Zimbabwe Collapse in Difficult Chase

Zimbabwe needed 220 for victory but struggled to build substantial partnerships against India’s disciplined bowling attack. Brian Bennett top-scored for the hosts with 32, while the remaining batters failed to convert their starts.

The home side was dismissed for 129 in 17.5 overs, handing India a comfortable 90-run victory.

Abhishek Sharma was India’s leading bowler with three wickets for 17 runs. Prince Yadav claimed two wickets for 10 runs before leaving the field with a suspected hamstring problem.

India Clinch Zimbabwe T20I Series

Yash Thakur delivered an impressive performance on his T20I debut, returning figures of two for 30. His wickets included Bennett, ending Zimbabwe’s most promising innings.

The victory gave Shreyas Iyer his first bilateral series win as India’s T20I captain. India had won the opening match by seven wickets and will now look to complete a series sweep in the third T20I at the same venue.
