India Beat South Africa to Win T20I Series
India defeated South Africa by 30 runs in the fifth and final T20 International at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, sealing the five-match series 3–1. The win capped a strong home performance for India in the 2025–26 T20I series against the touring South African team.
India Post Strong Total
India batted first and put up a big score of 231 for 5 in 20 overs. Tilak Varma top-scored with 73 runs, playing a measured innings that helped set up a competitive total. All-rounder Hardik Pandya also played a key role, scoring a brisk 63 runs to support the middle order and maintain the scoring rate. South Africa’s bowlers struggled to contain the Indian batting attack on a batting-friendly pitch.
South Africa Fight but Fall Short
In response, South Africa managed 201 for 8 in their 20 overs, falling 30 runs short of the target. Quinton de Kock provided resistance with a top score for the visitors, but South Africa could not match India’s run rate. India’s bowlers responded well, with Varun Chakravarthy among the more successful bowlers, helping restrict the chase in the middle overs. The result meant India took the T20I series with one match of the originally scheduled five washed out or affected.
Series Outcome and Performances
The series win continued India’s strong form in T20I cricket under current leadership. The team displayed depth in batting and effective bowling options, especially in home conditions. The final match also underscored India’s advantage in limited-overs cricket against South Africa during this tour.
