India Bags Six Golds on Day 2 of Taiwan Athletics Open

India’s athletic contingent delivered another commanding performance at the Taiwan Athletics Open 2025, clinching six gold medals on Day 2 and reinforcing its dominance in the regional meet. The victories came across javelin, hurdles, middle-distance races, and relay events, adding to the six golds won on Day 1. India’s current tally stands at 12 golds, 3 silvers, and 1 bronze.

Rohit Yadav, Annu Rani Strike Gold in Javelin

The javelin throw saw India asserting superiority in both the men’s and women’s categories. Rohit Yadav clinched the top spot in the men’s javelin event with a best throw of 74.42 meters, narrowly outpacing Taiwanese contenders Huang Shih-Feng and Cheng Chao-Tsun. In the women’s javelin, seasoned thrower Annu Rani reaffirmed her elite status with a gold-winning throw of 56.82 meters, extending her consistent record on the Asian circuit.

Vithya Ramraj, Krishan Kumar, and Relay Quartet Excel

In the track events, Vithya Ramraj stormed to victory in the women’s 400m hurdles, clocking an impressive 56.53 seconds. The 800m events were swept by India, with Pooja winning the women’s race in 2:02.79 and Krishan Kumar securing the men’s title in 1:48.46 — both establishing new meet records.

Adding to the gold rush, the Indian men’s 4x400m relay team comprising Santosh T, Vishal TK, Dharamveer Chaudhary, and Manu TS recorded a championship-best timing of 3:05.58, sealing India’s sixth gold for the day.
