India Accuses Pakistan Of Grave Rights Violations At UNSC

In a session of the United Nations Security Council, India strongly criticised Pakistan for what it described as “grave and ongoing human rights violations” in areas of Jammu and Kashmir under Islamabad’s control.

India’s Statement At The UN

India’s Permanent Representative to the UN, Parvathaneni Harish, said that Pakistan treats fundamental rights as an alien concept and continues to deny people their basic freedoms. He added that the region under Pakistan’s illegal occupation has long suffered due to heavy militarisation and lack of democratic governance.

Call For Accountability

Harish emphasised that Pakistan must end its policies of repression and exploitation, stating that Jammu and Kashmir is an “integral and inalienable part” of India. His remarks aimed to highlight Pakistan’s record before the international community and to counter its repeated attempts to raise the Kashmir issue at the UN.

Growing Diplomatic Strain

The exchange underlines the continuing strain between the two neighbours, with India using global platforms to press its case against Pakistan’s human rights record while reiterating its stance on Kashmir’s political status.
