According to security officials, IEDs were detected and safely defused during search operations in parts of Punjab and Jammu and Kashmir. The operations were launched after specific intelligence inputs about suspicious movements and possible attempts to smuggle explosive materials.

Bomb disposal squads were deployed to neutralise the devices, and forensic teams have collected samples for further examination. Authorities have not disclosed exact locations for security reasons but confirmed that the explosives were recovered before they could be used.

Investigators are examining possible links to Pakistan-based terror outfits, including Lashkar-e-Taiba, as part of the broader inquiry. Officials indicated that the intelligence warning suggested a coordinated attempt to destabilise security ahead of key events.

While agencies are probing cross-border connections, no final conclusions have been officially announced. Security forces continue to track communication channels and financial trails linked to the suspected network.

Following the intelligence alert, security has been tightened in Delhi and surrounding areas. Police have increased surveillance at sensitive installations, transportation hubs and crowded public spaces.

Authorities said preventive steps were taken immediately after the warning to avert any potential attack. Investigations remain ongoing as agencies work to identify those involved and assess the scope of the alleged terror plot.
