Hyderabad Student Shot Dead At Texas Gas Station

A 27-year-old Indian student from Hyderabad, Chandrashekar Pole, was shot and killed on October 3 at a gas station in Denton, Texas, in what local police suspect was a robbery attempt.

Circumstances Of The Incident

Pole was working part-time at the gas station when an unidentified gunman reportedly confronted him. He was shot on the spot and died immediately. Authorities say the motive is under investigation, but robbery is being considered.

Background And Education

Pole had completed his Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) in Hyderabad before moving to the U.S. in 2023 for higher studies. He had finished his master’s degree earlier this year and was pursuing job opportunities while doing part-time work.

Response And Investigation

The Dallas Police Department confirmed they are investigating the case and cooperating with local authorities. The Consulate General of India in Houston has expressed condolences and is assisting the family. Officials from the Telangana government have pledged support in repatriating Pole’s mortal remains, pending legal and procedural formalities.

The investigation is ongoing to determine the identity of the assailant and whether the attack was targeted or opportunistic.
