Hindenburg Founder Slams Mossad Link to Adani Report as ‘Absurd’
In a sharp response to recent allegations, Hindenburg Research founder Nate Anderson dismissed suggestions that Israel’s Mossad agency was involved in compiling their report on the Adani Group. Addressing the claims directly, Anderson called them “absurd” and likened them to a “James Bond fantasy.”
The controversy stems from recent narratives pushed by a few commentators suggesting that Hindenburg’s critical report on the Adani Group might have had the backing of Mossad operatives. However, Anderson categorically rejected the idea, saying it was a product of “wild imagination” rather than reality. “We are not backed by any intelligence agency,” Anderson clarified, emphasizing that the firm’s research was conducted independently without any external influence.
Hindenburg Research had released a damning report in January 2023 accusing Adani Group of stock manipulation, accounting fraud, and improper use of offshore entities. The report caused a dramatic plunge in Adani Group companies’ stock prices and invited intense global scrutiny. In the aftermath, numerous theories surfaced regarding the motivations and possible backers behind Hindenburg’s investigation, including wild claims linking it to international espionage agencies.
Hindenburg Adani Controversy
Responding to these speculations, Anderson said, “We have no connection whatsoever to Mossad or any other spy agency, foreign or domestic. We are a forensic financial research firm that spends months investigating companies we believe are committing fraud or otherwise misleading investors.” He further stated that attributing their work to covert operations was merely a tactic to divert attention from the real issues raised in the report.
Meanwhile, the Adani Group had initially dismissed the allegations made in the Hindenburg report, labeling them as “an attack on India.” They also launched a legal offensive against Hindenburg, initiating proceedings in U.S. courts. Despite these actions, global investment agencies and financial watchdogs took note of the allegations, prompting broader concerns over corporate governance practices in India.
Mossad Adani Report Claims
Interestingly, the Mossad rumor gained traction after certain Indian media commentators and social media influencers began hinting at an “international conspiracy” against Indian conglomerates. The narrative suggested that foreign agencies were attempting to destabilize India’s economic rise by targeting its leading corporate giants. However, no substantial evidence has ever been provided to support these theories.
Anderson concluded by saying, “When facts don’t support one’s position, weaving conspiracy theories is an easy way out. We stand by every word of our Adani report.” He reaffirmed that Hindenburg’s methodology is rooted in transparent, public research, and meticulous investigation.
The debate around the Adani-Hindenburg saga continues to capture headlines in India and abroad. With the founder’s blunt rejection of the Mossad link, the focus now returns to the core allegations and the pressing questions on corporate accountability that the original report raised.
