Himachal Pradesh Mandates Food Vendors and Eateries to Display Owners’ Names for Customer Convenience
The Congress-led Himachal Pradesh government has introduced a new regulation requiring all food vendors and eateries across the state to display the names and addresses of their owners for the convenience of customers. This decision was finalized during a meeting of the state’s Urban Development and Municipal Corporation on Tuesday.
The mandate follows a similar order implemented in Uttar Pradesh, where operators, proprietors, and managers of food establishments are required to prominently display their names and addresses.
To ensure proper implementation of the order, Himachal Pradesh Assembly Speaker Kuldeep Singh Pathania has formed a seven-member committee. This committee includes Ministers Vikramaditya Singh and Anirudh Singh, who will oversee the execution of the new directive.
In addition, during the meeting, Minister Vikramaditya Singh highlighted the introduction of new regulations for hawkers, which will include the issuance of identity cards for better regulation.
Both Himachal Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh’s food regulation orders come in the wake of the Tirupati laddu controversy, emphasizing the need for transparency and accountability in food establishments.
