Hillary Clinton Would Nominate Trump for Nobel If Peace Holds
Former US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has said she would nominate President Donald Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize if he successfully negotiates an end to the Ukraine war without Ukraine losing any of its territory.
Speaking on a podcast, Clinton stressed that any peace deal must uphold Ukraine’s sovereignty in full and should not involve concessions to Russia. She said if Trump becomes the “architect” of such a deal, she would move forward with a nomination.
Her comments come as Trump heads to Alaska for a high-stakes meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin, a summit viewed as a potential turning point in the conflict. Clinton described the talks as an opportunity for genuine diplomacy, but warned that any agreement must be based on complete Russian withdrawal from occupied areas.
The remarks mark a rare instance of bipartisan acknowledgment, with Clinton noting that ending the war under these terms would be in the global interest, regardless of political rivalry.
