Haryana Cop’s Suicide Alleges Corruption by Y Puran Kumar

In a shocking development, Assistant Sub-Inspector Sandeep Kumar, posted in the Rohtak cyber cell, died by suicide on Tuesday. Before his death, he recorded a video alleging that the late IPS officer Y Puran Kumar was corrupt and had replaced honest officers with those aiding malpractices.

Allegations in Final Video

In his final message, Sandeep claimed that after Puran Kumar’s posting to the Rohtak range, he orchestrated transfers, blocked legitimate work, and subjected women officers to exploitation for favors. He said he took his life because he feared exposure and retaliation. The video is about 6 minutes 26 seconds long and circulated widely on social media.

Connection to Puran Kumar Case

This event follows the controversial death of IPS officer Y Puran Kumar, whose suicide sparked outrage. In his final note, Puran Kumar had alleged years of harassment and caste bias. The new allegations add complexity to the ongoing investigations and raise questions about internal accountability within the Haryana police.

Investigation and Reactions

Rohtak Police have launched an inquiry into Sandeep’s death. Investigators will examine the video’s authenticity, sequence of events, and whether any pressure or misconduct contributed. The state government has moved cautiously amid public pressure to ensure a fair and transparent investigation.
